As promised, here are more images of flowering plants at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden, located in Federal Way, Washington. This time the images will not be of rhododendrons, but other of blooming plants this time of year.

Here’s the end, fuzzy seed stage of white Sweet Coltsfoot flowers that I spotted last time I visited the garden.

The above white flowers remind me of Dwarf Irises, but I couldn’t tell you for sure.

Ah, these lovely, tall Candelabra Primulas are abundant, right now.

I found these short-growing, purple Columbine flowers, also called Granny’s Bonnets.

Speaking of purple flowers, I found this lone, short growing Iris basking in the sunshine.

And here’s one of the first Blue Poppies to flower this year! The garden’s Blue Poppy Day is coming up May 14. There will be art vendors set up throughout the garden, along with music and food. Always a fun event!

These tall growing Umbrella Flowers are always so pretty. Below is a close-up image of the flower top.

I love the Asian Mayapple Plant, with its large, glossy leaves. Right now they are bearing their fruit—the dark, red parcels you see hanging from the plant’s stem. Below is a close-up image of the fruit.

Above is a yellow Tree Peony. These plants get to be quite large and shrub-like. The image below shows a better picture of their leaf structure.

Above is an example of the nice, big Peony blooms that we’re all used to seeing. They grow on a much shorter plant than the Tree Peony variety.

Above is the Giant Solomon’s Seal, a tall, leafy plant with clusters of hanging, white flowers.

The above image is of the one and only bush I found with these lovely, white flower blooms. Unfortunately, I do not know what species it is.

Now, let’s go inside the Rutherford Conservatory, where I would like to show off a fantastic plant—the Tasmanian Tree Fern. Just look at the size of one of its fronds!

And if you’re into Mycology, here are some mushrooms I found. Don’t ask me what species they are, though.
