While attending the Lavender Festival this past weekend, I had the pleasure of watching a raptor demonstration on the festival grounds. It was put on by the Northwest Raptor and Wildlife Center, located in Sequim, WA. They had their own little booth area alongside craft vendors to educate the public about their wildlife rehabilitation center and to accept donations to help support the center. The demonstration volunteers eagerly talked about each type of bird (raptor) to groups of people and told lots of interesting facts and info about them, including the types of injuries each sustained. They brought along with them a hawk, a falcon, and a few owl species. Here’s a few photos I was able to get.
